I believe that this picture just captures the essence of NY. I just experienced my first NY Halloween and let me just emphasize... you won't find anything else like it in the U.S. Although the crowds were massive and there were a few riots on the subways, it was great! A few of us sported garden gnome costumes and we got several friendly high-fives and we even got a hug from a fellow gnome on the streets.
It still amazes me that so many New Yorkers are really friendly and will go out of their way to do you a favor. My amazing friend and roommate Tori and I received a free bus ride from an MTA bus driver! We were even treated to a comped dessert at Max Brenner's all chocolate restaurant, just for being involved in the Music industry!
Unfortunately New York is full of amazing food, so my friends and I must come up with creative ways to work off all the goodness we eat. One of our favorite activities after Beka and Ben's class is to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge! The view is breathtaking at night and is a little over a mile walk. Ben and Beka teach the Entertainment Industry in NY class. I have to say, that I have learned so much about the music industry from their experiences. I feel like I am able to apply everything I've ever learned at Belmont in this class. I am able to discuss and strategize effectively about the music industry. Another great thing about the classes at Belmont East is that we get to have amazing guest speakers and field trips! But I’ll give out more details the next time I blog!
